Description
Join us for a full-day class where we will explore the stitching possibilities using the Spoke Easy and Loop Easy design tools. We will stitch a “garden” on a wool background, creating unique flowers, stems and leaves.
We will cover tips and tricks for using these tools, experiment with specialty threads to achieve different effects and textures and explore stitches and stitch combinations.
This class is great for anyone familiar with Sue’s unique style and looking to expand your skills to enhance your work. You should be comfortable with Sue’s techniques and be familiar with embroidery stitches.
The sample has been stitched on an Eco-dyed wool background, exclusive to Sue Spargo. I decided to turn mine into a pincushion, backed with velvet and stuffed with walnut shells. The velvet keeps the pincushion from sliding around, and the shells give it weight. You may decide to turn your piece into a pincushion as well or use it to make a needle roll or embellish a bag or pouch.
We are planning on having kits available for this project. The kit would include a piece of Eco-dyed wool or a piece of double dyed wool, velvet and SF101 for lining. We will also have a few thread packs containing some specialty threads. More information on kits to follow.
The only limit to the flowers in your garden is your imagination!
