Tip Tuesday
Curves don’t have to be intimidating—they just ask for a different kind of attention.
Working with curved seams in quilting comes down to control, patience, and a few small adjustments that make a big difference at the machine. Whether you’re trying the Twice Baked quilt pattern by Holly Clarke or exploring gentle curve piecing for the first time, these are the habits that help everything line up cleanly.

Edith’s Staff Pick

Tumbler Quilts Book by Valerie Prideaux
She kept coming back to three favourites in particular—Forest, Fire, and Blue Ocean.
Very on brand for Edith:
She loves a blue quilt,
loves a chance to use her scraps,
and really leans into a good colour gradient.
What stands out in these is how much the overall look can shift just by how you handle colour—fully scrappy, more controlled, or something in that in-between space. She also appreciates the various tumbler-shaped templates provided in the book.
The sample behind her is Getting Your Stripes On (made by Kim W), using our striped kit—such a good example of that more structured, colour-driven approach while still keeping movement.
