New: Petite Garden by Sevenberry
This week, we welcome a new batch of floral cotton lawn-weight fabrics from Sevenberry, a Japanese textile designer known for their delicate prints and quality fabrics. The Petite Garden collection features the sweetest tiny florals in soft, fresh colours that feel perfect for any of your spring sewing.
This lightweight cotton lawn is smooth and breathable — ideal for garment projects like breezy dresses, blouses, and light shirts.
The Petite Garden’s blue floral really spoke to us, so we created a brand new Vintage Purse Frame Kit inspired by it. It’s the perfect little project if you love delicate florals and a touch of hand stitching.
Each kit includes everything you need to get started:
• Zakka’s Vintage Floral Purse pattern
• Purse frame
• Twine
• Interfacing
• Figo linen for the exterior
• 100% cotton lining fabric
• Six skeins of Cosmo embroidery floss so you can choose the perfect colours for your floral motif.

New: Denim Fabric
We’re excited to finally restock our Denim selection! It’s been a little while since we’ve stocked our denim section in the shop, and we’re happy to fill that gap with a fresh range of beautiful options.
Our new denims come in a variety of weights, from 5 oz to 10 oz, making them perfect for a wide range of sewing projects. The lighter denims are great for shirts, dresses, and skirts, while the mid-weight options work wonderfully for pants, jackets, and structured garments. They’re also a fantastic choice for tote bags, aprons, and everyday accessories.

New: Yukon Waxed Canvas Fabric
We’re excited to introduce Yukon Waxed Canvas, a durable, water‑resistant fabric perfect for bags, aprons, and other long‑lasting projects.
Unlike dry waxed canvas, Yukon has a slightly richer wax coating, giving it a medium patina that develops over time. If you’ve never worked with it before, don’t worry — as you handle and sew your project, the fabric will develop subtle, natural marks and creases, adding character and charm.
We have six gorgeous colours for you to try, and we can’t wait to see what you create!
Here are some handy tips for sewing with Waxed Canvas:
- Use a strong needle, like a denim or leather needle, to handle the wax coating.
- Avoid pins if possible; clips or SewTites work better to prevent marks.
- Consider slightly longer stitch lengths to make sewing easier and prevent puckering.
- A walking foot can help feed the fabric evenly, especially for thicker layers.
- Don’t worry about tiny scratches — they’ll blend into the patina as your project is used.
New: Canvas Fabric
Our new 12 oz Canvas is slightly lighter than our Big Sur Canvas, making it versatile while still durable. We currently have six beautiful colours for you to explore.
Here are some handy tips for sewing with 12oz Canvas:
- Use a denim or heavy-duty needle (size 90/14 or 100/16) for best results.
- Longer stitch lengths (3–3.5 mm) help the fabric feed smoothly.
- Use clips or SewTites instead of pins to avoid permanent marks.
- A walking foot or even-feed foot can make sewing multiple layers much easier.
- Press gently — canvas can hold creases, so a steam iron on medium heat works best.
Our 12 oz canvas is sturdy yet manageable, making it a great choice for both beginner and advanced sewing projects.

Sew + Tell: Lesley’s Maggie Quilt
Check out Lesley’s newest quilt, fresh back from Laila’s Longarming — what a stunning finish! The colours and fabrics came together so beautifully.
Lesley used Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics and the Maggie Quilt pattern by Kitchen Table Quilting, creating a quilt that feels both cozy and elegant. A few other fabrics she incorporated include Tilda Woven Stripe, Tilda Chambray in Mustard, and an Essex Speckle background, which all add wonderful texture and warmth to the design.
