Tip Tuesday

We asked Ron Collins the impossible question this week: “If you could only keep ONE sewing tool from each category for the rest of your life… what would it be?”

Turns out, Ron’s picks are all about versatility, precision, and tools that truly earn their place in the sewing room.

From his beloved Kai shears to midweight glass head pins that can handle everything from lightweight fabrics to denim, these are the tried-and-true favourites he reaches for again and again.

We’re curious now… what would make YOUR forever-tool list?

Angela’s Nyla Jacket by sewcreativelounge.com came together during Ron’s 3-day retreat and turned out SO good.

This pattern is jelly roll friendly (you’ll need two!), which makes it such a fun way to play with colour and prints. Angela also picked up some great garment sewing tips during the retreat — including using rayon bemberg for the sleeve lining so the jacket slips on and off like a dream.

We could absolutely see this one made up in Tula Pink's Floral Reef jelly rolls!

Also: we’ve updated Ron Collins’ July schedule and have included it on our class list — view our class list below!
