Looking for something creative (and actually fun) for the kids this summer?
These beginner-friendly sewing camps with Roz of the Habi Life are such a good way to build skills and confidence—whether they’re brand new to sewing or wanting to expand on skills.
A few different options through July and August, including both kids and teen camps. Spots tend to fill, so it’s worth taking a peek sooner than later!
Camps are held in the Riyoko Studio Space at the NVRLD Arts Foundation (1048 21 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta, in Ramsay.

Maker Spotlight
Lynn R.’s take on Upgrade Quilt from Jen Kingwell’s Gathered stopped us in our tracks the minute it came through the shop.
Working with Tilda Chambray as that steady, grounding base and layering in Liberty prints, she’s created something that feels both structured and full of movement. Every round pulls you in a little closer—those tiny triangles, the shifts in colour, the way it all builds without ever feeling chaotic.
It’s one of those quilts that rewards you the longer you look at it—and we’re very glad we had the chance to admire it!
