Description

This hands-on class is perfect for quilters and sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels.  EPP is a great portable project for those on the go.

Topics covered will include:

• Tools and materials required for EPP
• Options for preparing your paper pieces and fabrics and tips to ensure accuracy
• Basting techniques
• Joining techniques, including needle and thread choices to ensure seamless joining
• How to accurately fussy cut your fabrics to create complex and precise designs
• Troubleshooting common issues and achieving a polished look
• Methods for removing paper templates
  

We will supply some simple paper piece shapes for you to practice on. Or, if you have a project started and are just looking for help, feel free to bring it.

Whether you’re new to sewing or looking to refine your skills, this class offers comprehensive guidance and practice.  

Supply list

• Basic sewing kit (needles, scissors, pins, thimble etc.)
  
  
• Fabric scissors
  
  
• Fabric in various colours and patterns – if you wish to fussy cut your fabrics, you may need. Up to .5 of a meter dependent upon the pattern repeat
  
  
• Paper pieces – only if you have a specific project or shape in mind
  
  
• Basting thread
  
  
• Thread for joining pieces – 80 weight in a neutral colour recommended
  
  
• Needles for joining pieces – size 10 or 11 milliners recommended
  
• Fabric glue stick
  
  
• Small cutting at – a rotary mat is highly recommended
  
  
• Rotary cutter
  
  
• Small quilt ruler
  
  
• Marking tool of your choice – pencil or frixon pen
  
  
• Small hera marker - suggested but not required
  
  
• SewTites or clover clips
  
  
• Fussy cut mirrors – suggested but not required

CLASS POLICY

Thank you for choosing Out of Hand Quilting & Fabrics for your creative endeavours! We're excited to have you join our classes and learn new skills. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have established the following store policy regarding class enrollment:

1. Registration: By registering for a class, either online or in-store, you are entering into a contract for participation in that class. We kindly ask that you carefully consider your schedule and availability before enrolling.

2. Class Cancellations + Shop Credit: Class registrations are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. If we are able to fill your spot from the waitlist, you will receive a shop credit for the value of the class. If we are unable to fill your spot, no refund or shop credit will be issued.

3. Transferability: Class registrations are non-transferable. If you are unable to attend, you cannot transfer your enrollment to another person. 

4. Minimum Class Requirements: Please note that classes have a minimum requirement of participants to cover instructor and staff costs and ensure an enriching learning environment. We will make every effort to meet these requirements and run the class as scheduled. In the event that the minimum class requirement is not met, participants will be notified 1-2 weeks in advance. Only in this instance, a full refund will be issued to those who have already enrolled. We understand that this may be disappointing, but it is necessary to maintain the quality and viability of our classes.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we genuinely want to support your passion for creative exploration. We encourage you to reach out to us as soon as possible if you find yourself unable to attend a class you have registered for. This will allow us to explore the possibility of filling your spot from the waitlist and providing you with an in-store credit.
