PREORDER JANUARY 2025
Yorkshire buttons are very similar in technique to the traditional Dorset buttons. However, they are made on a little loom, and then stuffed to create a ball or flat shape. They can be made using leftover wool and thread from projects – in fact they often work best with thicker thread. The resulting buttons are very tactile, and lots of fun!
Despite the name, there is no evidence or tradition of an historic industry or tradition in Yorkshire regarding this button making technique.
These looms have been designed & manufactured by Gina-B Silkworks in the UK, as reusable template tools in 6 sizes, with cleverly shaped & positioned tabs for ease of use.
