Liberty Fabrics - Tana Lawn™ Cotton - Sophie Anne Blue

Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s botanical recordings, Sophie Ann features a number of British wildflowers, including Chicory, Cuckoo flower, Bindweed, Lesser Celandine, Common Vetch and the Dog Rose. The floral forms were drawn in pencil and layered with delicate washes of watercolour, before being overlaid to create areas of transparency. This print studies the subject through the Botanist’s eye, cataloguing and exploring an assortment of species as well as a being a celebration of key florals throughout Liberty’s history.
