Tip Tuesday:
Got fabric scraps lying around? Let’s turn them into something cute and functional! Follow this simple step-by-step to whip up a basic pouch – perfect for a quick project using those “too pretty to toss” pieces!
1. Layer: Stack outer fabric, zipper, and lining – outer fabric on the bottom, zipper (pull facing down), and lining on top.
2. Sew: Sew along the top edge to attach the zipper.
3. Topstitch: Open up fabrics WST, fold back from zipper, and topstitch.
4. Repeat: Do the same for the other side of the zipper with the remaining outer and lining pieces.
5. Sew Pouch: Place outer fabrics together, linings together, and sew around, leaving a small opening in the lining. Make sure the zipper is halfway open!
6. Turn & Finish: Turn the pouch right side out, stitch the lining closed, and you’re done!
Tada! Now you’ve got a super cute pouch made entirely from scraps!
