Tip Tuesday:
Unlock the secret of quilting anatomy with these Tip Tuesday essentials! Get the confidence to work on your next quilt by understanding the parts of the quilt including top and binding, and elements such as quilt blocks, sashing, borders, and more!
Quilt Top - The top layer of the quilt is made by sewing together various fabric pieces, often forming a design or pattern.
Backing - The bottom layer of the quilt, typically a single piece of fabric that serves as the foundation on the backside of the quilt.
Binding - The fabric strip is used to cover and secure the edges of the quilt, providing a finished look. You can use pre-made bias tape or you can create your own with a bias tape maker tool
Elements of the Quilt Top
Main Fabric - The primary fabric used to create the quilt blocks or the fabric that stands out the most in the design.
Cornerstone - A small, often decorative, square piece at the intersection of the quilt's borders. Background Fabric - The fabric that serves as the backdrop for the main design or blocks in the quilt.
Quilt Block - A fundamental unit of a quilt's design, often a square or rectangle made from various fabrics and arranged to create a pattern.
Sashing - The strips of fabric that separate and frame individual quilt blocks within the quilt top.
Inner Border / Zinger - Additional fabric strips or borders are inserted between the quilt center and the outer border, adding visual interest.
Outer Border - The fabric strips that outline the outer edges of the quilt.

Patti’s Staff Pick
*Meet the Team Edition - Patti*
Today we explore Patti's meticulously organized studio (which is no surprise given her ability to keep the shop looking fresh!).
Kaffe favourites used in a Seed Packet Quilt adorn her design wall, and her green thumb thrives even over the winter– yes, those are Dahlia bulbs resting in the pink container by the window!
She makes her studio even more spacious by using Ikea shelving and the magic of her Horn table for extra organized magic.
With a space this airy, can we invite ourselves over for some sewing fun?
