Maker Spotlight - August 11, 2026 - Edith's Butterick Liberty Tana Lawn Nightie

This week’s Maker Monday comes with a lovely bit of history.

Many, many years ago, Edith’s daughter gifted her a Liberty Tana Lawn™ nightie. Edith loved it so much that she wore it right through to its final days — so when it was finally time to retire it, she decided to make herself another!

For her new nightie, Edith chose a beautiful Liberty Tana Lawn™ floral and an oldie but a goodie: Butterick 6838. She especially loves Tana Lawn for sleepwear because of how beautifully lightweight it is — effortlessly cool, soft and comfortable.

And she’s already thinking about the next one! Edith mentioned that she’d love to find a more traditional chemise-style pattern next time, as she thinks the lightness and drape of Tana Lawn would be absolutely lovely for it.

A pretty practical make, and a sweet way to recreate an old favourite.
