Tip Tuesday
One quilt, three different paths to the finish line.
Whether you choose longarm quilting, machine quilting, or hand quilting, each method offers its own advantages—and there's no right or wrong choice. It all depends on your project, your goals, and what you enjoy most.
This week we're taking a closer look at each technique, explaining what makes them unique, who they're best suited for, and a few of our favourite tools to help you get started.
Whether you're quilting your very first project or your fiftieth, we hope this helps you discover a finishing method you love.
Which one is your favourite: longarm, machine, or hand quilting?

Joanne's Sue Spargo Journey:
This week we're celebrating Joanne and the beautiful collection of Sue Spargo projects she's completed over the years.
From Squash Squad to festive trees, whimsical landscapes, and now Houseplant, Joanne has embraced each kit with incredible care and attention to detail. While the designs may come from Sue Spargo, it's Joanne's stitching that makes every project uniquely her own.
Take a closer look and you'll find beautifully even embroidery, thoughtful layering of stitches, dimensional embellishments, and hand quilting that quietly adds movement and texture throughout each piece. The backgrounds are filled with hand quilting that complements rather than competes with the appliqué, and every block invites you to linger a little longer to discover another tiny stitched detail.
We're especially smitten with Squash Squad—one of Joanne's completed favourites—and we have full Squash Squad kits available if you've been dreaming of stitching your own.
And if Joanne's latest project has inspired you, Houseplant is our newest Sue Spargo Block of the Month and we still have a few spots available! It's a wonderful opportunity to build your embroidery skills one block at a time while creating a quilt full of texture, colour, and personality.
Thank you, Joanne, for letting us share your beautiful work. Your patience, precision, and dedication are an inspiration, and we can't wait to watch your collection continue to grow.
