Most people at the shop know I’ve been sewing for a while now, but when it comes to floss—embroidery, cross stitch, and all the thread-based chaos—I’m still dipping my toes in that journey. Let’s just say… I’ve had some humbling moments.
Thanks to some great advice from Marilyn, Patti, and Alison, and a few... *ahem*.. "Learning Opportunities", I’ve figured out a few small things that actually help. They’re not revolutionary, but they’ve made stitching smoother, less frustrating, and honestly more fun.
If you’re new to the floss world, hopefully, these tips save you a bit of trial and error. And if you’ve been stitching forever, feel free to chime in with your own—you know I’m still taking notes.

Anne’s Daylesford Quilt from Quilt Recipes by Jen Kingwell is an absolute showstopper!
While we were showing off Alison Glass’s Widebacks and latest line Colorwheel, Anne casually mentioned she started this beauty with one of the medallion prints—Brilliant!
She also Included some Pineapple blocks… just because she could. 😉
